I can't claim to be a vid game player by any means (solitaire and mah-jongg are more my speed) but I really love Abe's Oddysee and would love to see an Oddworld movie!
Going more old-school, I kind of got immersed in BattleTech when I sold my husband's BT paraphanalia on ebay a couple of years ago. It's a role playing game from the 80's which I think was made into video games and which has a fascinating and well-developed back story. I would have kept some of the books, but the money was too good!
My husband says that the movie rights were bought years ago, but no one has done anything with it yet :(
